New season, new team

I'm holding on to something
That's not there anymore
New people come
My old friends go
Thinking of last year
still makes me smile
we were a team
we were friends
it felt safe.
Now it's gone.
Some of you
are still here
we're still a team
but the other's had to go
and a new load came
to replace them.
it feels strange.
i know it's just
a matter of time
to get used
to the new folks
and to form a team
with them as well.

It's just not the final year
as I had imagined
it to be.
