Some personal tidbits
After the volleyball match they all sat down for a beer, or an other drink. The match didn't go that well, so the drink was right in place. They were all chatting for a bit and envited some family members to join their table.
Not sure what triggered it, the partner of one of her teammembers began to tell about her coming out as a lesbian. The girl was fascinated. Of course, she knew one of her teammembers was a lesbian and she knew about her partner as well. For a while now, she had been fascinated by them; they're the only lesbian couple she knows.
Finally, she didn't feel all that alone anymore, getting to know more and more people like her. But none of her lesbian friends ever really talked about themselves in that way (sure, they'd talk about dating, meeting cute girls etc, but none of them really talked about their struggles with coming to peace with themselves and coming out). And now here she was, sitting in the cantine, listening to her teammate's partner, telling about her coming out and how she felt in her teens. She was in awe. She could do that too, you know. Not right then and there, but she could do that someday. And she did. She did tell five of her friends that she's a lesbian and she will tell the rest eventually. Everything at it's own time.
Even tho she doesn't believe in a God, it sure as hell felt as a sign from up above.
